MASTERING
SEASONAL CRAVINGS

Habit Principle: Redirecting unhelpful habits | Pillar Practice: Food

UNDERSTANDING UNWANTED CRAVINGS

Seasonal treats can be hard to resist because they’re not just delicious, but also something available for a limited time. This creates a powerful craving loop that takes hold of our routines, and gives us instant “rewards.” Step-by-step, we’ll teach you the science to break this cycle, and support you with events and challenges to help you lock your new habits.

HOW IT WORKS

Each day for the next two weeks you’ll do something we call “reverse tracking,” where you’ll give yourself credit for any time you said “no” to an unwanted food craving. Every day you successfully do this, you’ll open your Calibrate app and mark your goal as done. (Any day you didn’t have a craving, but took the time to notice, you can check your goal off, too.) To read more about how this works and how it can help you break unwanted craving cycles for the long-term, check out our guide.

TUNE IN FOR A KICKOFF
AND A WRAP UP

Kickoff

On October 11 at 12 PM ET, Coach Melanie and Emotional Health Expert Christine Celio, PhD, led an optional live kick-off event to help you better understand why you might feel helpless around seasonal snacks and how you can change those behaviors.

Wrap Up

We’ll also wrap up the challenge with a live meetup on October 27 at 12 PM ET, where you’ll have the opportunity to discuss what you’ve learned, how you’ve won, and ways to build on your success with Coach Melanie, Director of Food Editorial Drew Anne Salvatore, and fellow Masters teammates.

NO TRICKS HERE

Remind yourself that food is fuel with any (or all) of these guides. And if you have questions about the food program, join us during Food Office hours, held twice per month (October 12 and October 26 this month, at 12:00 PM ET).
