During your doctor visit, your Calibrate doctor will review your lab results and health history, and use this information to make recommendations for your treatment plan—tailored to you.

You should receive a lab order via email within two business days of sign-up from labs@joincalibrate.com. If we do not receive the necessary insurance information at sign-up, we’ll first contact you via email to obtain the necessary insurance details before ordering your labs.

Labs are not included in the cost of your Metabolic Reset. Your Calibrate Team helps navigate your commercial insurance to get your labs covered, but coverage is not guaranteed. Read more about labs coverage here.

Prior to your Calibrate doctor visit, our Medical Team requires you to complete lab work to better inform your medical care. 

The lab requirements are as follows: 

Within 3 months prior to your doctor visit:

• Comprehensive Metabolic Panel

Within 6 months prior to your doctor visit:

• Hemoglobin A1c
• Lipid Panel
• Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)

In addition, we recommend a fasting insulin test and a C-Reactive Protein (CRP) test (also within 6 months prior to your doctor visit), but this isn’t required. 

If Calibrate generates the lab order, the required labs as well as a fasting insulin test and a C-Reactive Protein (CRP) test will automatically be included in your lab request. 

If you plan to upload your own labs, be sure they meet the full list of requirements above. If you are missing any required labs from this list, you will need to visit a lab to have them drawn before you can schedule your appointment with a Calibrate doctor. Please do not visit a lab without getting a lab order from Calibrate. You can request a new lab order by messaging us via the Support Center in your Calibrate app.

To ensure proper medical identification, please make sure your labs contain your full name and date of birth. Also, make sure the date of collection is on the pages of your results so we can validate when you got the labs done. 

Our Medical Team prescribes medication based on up-to-date health information to protect your health and safety.

It can take up to five days for us to receive lab results from Labcorp, Quest, or a local lab. Once we receive your results, we’ll have the Medical Team review your labs. Then, we’ll upload your results to the Calibrate app so that you can view them. Lab results are typically released a day before your doctor visit. To find your lab results, go to the Calibrate app, click “Documents” in the navigation bar, and go to “Your Labs.”

You can email your lab results to labs@joincalibrate.com, or upload them via the Calibrate web portal:

• Log in to your Calibrate account by going to app.joincalibrate.com via your web browser.
• Go to the left-hand navigation bar and select “Documents.”
• Click “Upload Document,” “Select File From Computer” (please ensure the file designation “.PDF” is included in the file title so that the file uploads properly), then “Upload.”
• You’ll see a green banner that confirms “Document has been added.”
• Check that the file appears in the documents list on your screen.

This works best if you send your results as a PDF. To ensure proper medical identification, please make sure your labs include your full name and date of birth. Please also be sure the date of collection is listed so we can validate when you got the labs done. These identifiers help us verify that the labs are yours.

You’ll schedule your doctor and coach appointments at the end of your Comprehensive Health Intake. These appointments are scheduled so you have ample time to complete your labs, set up your scale and Calibrate app, and prepare for your Metabolic Reset.

For your 30-minute, 1:1 video visit with your Calibrate doctor, you must:

• Complete your Calibrate app setup, sync your Withings smart scale, and record your baseline measurements
• Complete all your required labs at least five business days before your appointment
• Be physically located in the state of residence you indicated when you signed up for Calibrate
• Be in a quiet and private place, without distractions (no driving, please!), in order to discuss personal details about your health

If you’re unable to meet any of these requirements, you must reschedule your video visit by messaging us via the Support Channel in the Calibrate app. Please know that if you request to change or cancel less than 48 hours before your appointment, you may not be able to reschedule for up to two weeks, which will delay the start of your program accordingly.

If you’ve changed your state of residence (ie. relocated for 30 consecutive days or more), please also let us know in the Support Channel so we can update your information. We may need to reschedule your doctor appointment with a provider licensed in your new state.

During your doctor appointment, you’ll discuss your health history, lab results, and learn more about the GLP-1 medications that are clinically appropriate for you and covered by your insurance. Your Calibrate doctor will also discuss how GLP-1 medications are most effective with the support of your Calibrate coach, Medical Team, and Calibrate Community, to help members stay on track and accountable. Your Medical Team will work with you to adjust medication as needed, in order to find the right tapering timeline. The lifestyle tweaks you’ll make, and the tools you’ll learn from Calibrate are the key to sustaining your success long-term.

To find the Zoom link for your upcoming appointment, log into your Calibrate app:

• Tap the Visits tab 
• Select your upcoming appointment
• Tap Join Zoom Call (this option will be available up to 30 minutes before your appointment begins) 
• Please note that, for security reasons, we will now require that you have the Zoom app downloaded on your desktop or mobile device and be logged into your personal Zoom account (You can download it for your desktop computer here, for Android here, or for iPhone here.

You’ll also receive an appointment reminder email with your session time and Zoom link 90 minutes before your scheduled appointment, and will be guided through the download process when you click the link.

To reschedule your doctor appointment or first coaching session, please message us via the Support Channel in the Calibrate app. Once we receive your request, we’ll send you a rescheduling link where you can choose a new date and time for your appointment. Please know that if you request to change or cancel your doctor appointment less than 48 hours before your appointment, you may not be able to reschedule for up to two weeks, which will delay the start of your program accordingly.

To reschedule a subsequent biweekly coaching session, you can access the reschedule link for your upcoming (within the next 14 days) session directly in the app:

• Go into the “Calendar” tab, find your upcoming session, and click the “Reschedule” button.
• You’ll be redirected to the reschedule link where you can log in, select the corresponding session, and click the three dots (...) on the right to reschedule.
• You’ll be able to view your coach’s availability up to five days before or seven days after the original appointment time, so you can choose your new preferred date and time.

At Calibrate, we use a team-based approach to navigate the prescription process and reduce or eliminate any barriers, providing as smooth a transition as possible onto your GLP-1s/combined GLP-1s. See our Getting Your Medication Guide for a detailed explanation of the prescription process.

If you are enrolled in Calibrate through your employer, your medication approval timeline will differ. Please visit the registration page you used to join Calibrate for information specific to your program.

GLP-1 approval can vary by insurance company and individual plan. Our team will help navigate the insurance process for you to find you a GLP-1 covered at $25 per month or less after any deductible has been met. While it typically takes 6-8 weeks after your Calibrate doctor’s appointment to receive your medication, in some cases it can take up to 90 days. You can always reach out to us via the Support Channel in the Calibrate app if you have any questions along the way. Rest assured, our team is working hard behind the scenes to help find you a covered option.

Your Welcome Kit will be delivered shortly after you sign up and prior to your doctor appointment. You’ll receive a tracking number and details via email, a few days after your sign-up is complete.

Your Welcome Kit includes a Withings smart scale that will sync directly with your Calibrate app. As soon as you receive your scale, you can set it up using the Calibrate app and the Withings Body Pro Onboarding Guide that you received with your scale.

Even if you already have another smart scale, our Medical Team strongly recommends setting up your Withings smart scale, as its cellular connectivity allows for much faster and more reliable syncing than Bluetooth devices. Plus, the Withings smart scale syncs directly with your Calibrate app, with no additional setup.

However, if you prefer to use your personal Bluetooth smart scale, just make sure it’s synced to Apple Health (on iOS) or Google Fit (on Android) in order for your readings to sync with the Calibrate app.

Please note:

• Check that you have Apple Health downloaded on your iPhone, or Google Fit downloaded on your Android phone. You’ll want to sync and share data directly between Apple Health or Google Fit and your Calibrate app.
• Turn on push notifications to allow the Calibrate app to notify you with reminders to track your daily metrics, alerts, and messages from our Medical, Support, and Coaching team:

1. Log into your Calibrate app
2. Select “Profile”
3. Go to “Device”
4. Enable push notifications
5. Go into your phone settings and enable push notifications from the Calibrate app

Tracking is an important part of your Metabolic Reset, because we believe that what you can measure, you can change. What you track becomes the data that your Medical Team uses to adjust your medication and the inputs that you and your Coach use to personalize your goals.

In the beginning of your Metabolic Reset—from the moment you log into your app—you’ll have two required trackers: your Weight tracker and Energy Level tracker, which can be found on the home screen. You’ll also see optional Sleep and Step trackers. As you progress further into your Reset, these optional trackers will then become required. You’ll also see a final tracker, your Red Foods tracker, in your Level 1 Food class.

You can connect your Fitbit to the Calibrate app through the following steps:

• Sign in with your email and password to app.joincalibrate.com on a web browser
• In the top right corner, click on the “Settings” gear icon
• Select “Integrations”
• Beside Fitbit, select “Connect”
• Sign into your Fitbit account
• Give permissions from Fitbit to sync with the Calibrate app
• If it asks you to sign into Healthie, do so with your Calibrate information

The Calibrate app does not currently sync with the MyFitnessPal app, but if it’s helpful for you, feel free to keep using your MyFitnessPal app outside of Calibrate.

You can connect any sleep tracker app to your Calibrate app, so long as it syncs and shares data directly with either Apple Health or Google Fit. First, check that the sleep tracker of your choice will allow data sharing with Apple Health or Google Fit. Then, turn on the data sharing option for your sleep tracker app. Your sleep metrics will automatically sync from Apple Health or Google Fit to the Calibrate app.

Please note that if you choose not to connect the Calibrate App to Apple Health or Google Fit, the Calibrate app will prompt you to “Finish your Setup.” To avoid duplicate metric sources, you can go into your settings for Apple Health or Google Fit and toggle off steps, sleep, and weight, if applicable.
