GET THE BEST CHANCE OF ACCESSING A GLP-1
Calibrate's team of experts and proprietary tools and data give you the best shot at GLP-1 access in the industry. Here's how.
MEET YOUR CALIBRATE TEAM
Your team is dedicated to securing GLP-1 access at an affordable cost. Most members typically pay $25/month or less (after any deductible is met).
THE MEDICATION PROCESS
Step One
30-Minute Doctor Visit
Within 24 hours of your 30-minute doctor visit, the Medical Team determines which GLP-1s are clinically appropriate for you based on your labs and health history.
Step Two
Prior Authorizations Completed
If necessary, the Insurance Navigation Team completes Prior Authorizations, an extra step insurance companies take to make sure that your prescription meets the medical criteria for coverage. This process typically takes six to eight weeks, but in some cases can take up to 90 days.
Step Three
Prescription Sent
When access is approved, the Medical Team sends your prescription to the pharmacy.
Step Four
Medication Delivered
For most members, medication is delivered to your doorstep. You can also opt to pick up medication at your local pharmacy.

Questions
We’ll work with your commercial/employer insurance to get your labs and medication covered. Medication should be typically capped at $25 or less per month after any deductible is met.
If you’d like to confirm that your commercial/employer insurance plan covers the medications and labs that Calibrate doctors prescribe/order before joining Calibrate, you can reach out directly to your insurer and ask the following questions:
Does my plan cover GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide) medications?
- If not, is step therapy an option?
Does my plan cover the following lab tests? Is there a copay?
- Hemoglobin A1c
- Lipid panel
- Comprehensive metabolic panel
- Fasting insulin test
- High-sensitivity C-reactive protein
- Thyroid-stimulating hormone
If the medications are covered, the GLP-1 medication copay should be typically capped at $25 or less per month after any deductible is met. Keep in mind that the medication coverage can require information from your lab results to get insurance approval.
If you have a high-deductible health plan, you'll need to pay through the deductible before your medications are covered by your plan. Since the GLP-1 medications that Calibrate doctors currently prescribe are brand-name medications, high-deductible plans will not cover them before you reach your deductible (which may differ from their coverage of other—typically generic—medications).
At Calibrate we have a team of insurance navigation experts to help you access an initial GLP-1 medication prescription that's typically around $25/month or less (after any deductible is met). We’ve helped tens of thousands of members access affordable GLP-1s.
Although medication is an important aspect of our program, medical experts agree: the combination of GLP-1 medication and lifestyle changes is the most effective approach to sustainable weight loss.
The GLP-1 market has evolved considerably, with increased availability and lower costs than in previous years. Although these medications can still be costly, there are now more affordable self-pay options available. During your visit, we can review these options together and determine which one may be the best fit for you.
The majority of commercial insurance plans cover GLP-1 medications after any deductible is met, but each plan's coverage can be unique.
Although medication is an important aspect of our program, medical experts agree: the combination of GLP-1 medication and lifestyle changes is the most effective approach to sustainable weight loss. With this in mind, we guarantee that if you stick with Calibrate for 12 consecutive months, you will lose at least 10% of your body weight, with or without the GLP-1 medication or you'll be eligible for money back! (see terms).

HDHPs will require you to pay through your deductible prior to getting your medication covered. If you have a high deductible that you were not already planning to pay through, you should expect to pay through your entire deductible on Calibrate before you can access GLP-1 medication at around $25/month.
Unfortunately, we're not set up to accept members who have any form of federal or government insurance, regardless of whether they are willing to pay out of pocket or whether they have additional commercial insurance. This is due to regulatory restrictions in place around the patient populations that Calibrate doctors are able to treat.
GLP-1 medications such as Zepbound®, Ozempic®, Wegovy®, and Mounjaro® have experienced periodic nationwide shortages in recent years, though supply has become much more stable. If shortages occur again, we understand how frustrating it can be to have difficulty accessing your medication.
At Calibrate, medication is just one part of a comprehensive program designed to support sustainable weight loss. Our approach helps you build healthy habits that work alongside medication, so you can continue making progress even if access is temporarily interrupted.
While we cannot guarantee uninterrupted medication availability, we are committed to supporting you throughout your journey. If you are affected by a shortage, our clinical team will work with you one-on-one to explore options, which may include adjusting your dose or switching to another appropriate GLP-1 medication covered by your insurance.
