How does the Mounjaro Patient Access Program Work?

Mounjaro is a new, brand-name medication and is therefore expensive and not covered by most insurance companies yet. As a result, its manufacturer, Eli Lilly, is offering a patient access program to bring down the cost of the medication. The coupons are subject to change and often work for a specific period of time.

When applied by a pharmacy, Eli Lilly’s coupon for Mounjaro will bring down the cost of the medication to $25 or less per month (after any deductible is met). That coupon is limited to approximately 12 fills or expires after June 30, 2023, whichever comes first. That means if you fill a prescription for Mounjaro by the end of June 2022, you can expect to be able to access the medication through June of next year. We encourage you to read the terms and conditions on the manufacturer’s website here. By accessing your medication with this coupon, you will waive your right to a refund in the future if the terms of the manufacturer patient access program change or if your access to the program expires.

After the Mounjaro coupon expires, your Medical Team will help you navigate next steps. While we cannot guarantee coverage without this patient access program, or that your cost will continue at $25 per month, we will work closely with you to determine the best path forward. The Medical Team may also work with you prior to coupon expiration to initiate tapering if medically appropriate.
