Rethinking weight health: A holistic and clinically driven approach
At Calibrate, we believe that weight is not just about willpower—it’s about biology.
Obesity is a complex metabolic condition influenced by hormones, genetics, sleep, stress, and lifestyle factors, yet most weight loss solutions focus only on surface-level interventions like restrictive dieting or short-term medication use.
Calibrate takes a unique approach by integrating clinician-guided care, lifestyle intervention, and structured accountability coaching (via 1:1 virtual sessions) to fundamentally reset metabolism. This model doesn’t just help people lose weight—it changes the way their bodies manage weight long-term.
For companies like Brookfield Asset Management, this approach offers something critical: a strategic, cost-effective way to manage obesity as a chronic condition while empowering employees with sustainable health improvements—far beyond what medication alone can achieve.
About Brookfield
Brookfield Asset Management is a leading private equity firm with a high-achieving workforce of 14,000 employees across multiple states.
With 45% of Brookfield employees in business and finance roles, the company recognized the need for a structured, effective weight health solution that could fit into the demanding schedules of its workforce.
Additionally, with a predominantly female employee base (73%), Brookfield sought a program that addressed the unique metabolic and hormonal factors that impact weight health in women—including the effects of hormonal fluctuations, insulin resistance, and metabolic shifts related to life stages such as pregnancy, perimenopause, and menopause—to provide a science-backed, sustainable approach to long-term health.
Brookfield was already covering GLP-1 medications for their employees with no structured medication access or proper support in place—leading to inconsistent results and rising costs. Ultimately, these outcomes affected not only the ROI of their business but the quality of care they wanted to offer their employees.
The company sought a solution that would:
- Improve employee satisfaction by offering a comprehensive, effective weight health program
- Ensure that GLP-1 utilization was paired with clinically driven interventions for better-sustained outcomes
- Create an infrastructure to support weight management as a long-term investment in employee health
The solution: A structured, clinically-led weight health strategy
In January 2023, Brookfield implemented a voluntary enrollment model allowing employees to opt into the full Metabolic Reset program while still receiving GLP-1 medication coverage separately should they choose to do so. They could also opt to leverage Calibrate for their GLP-1 prescription.
However, early data revealed a key insight: employees who combined Calibrate with their medication saw significantly better results than those using medication alone.
As a result, Brookfield has evolved its strategy to:
- Ensure employees engage with Calibrate in order to access GLP-1s—helping them achieve better, more sustainable weight loss outcomes
- Expand options to include an Intensive Lifestyle Intervention-only (ILI) path for those who prefer a non-medication approach, or for individuals who do not qualify for the GLP-1 inclusive program but are still seeking weight and wellness support
- Introduce a “Beyond Year 2” program for continuing members to support ongoing weight maintenance and metabolic health
- As of January 2025, require all employees to obtain GLP-1 medication through Calibrate’s obesity medicine specialists, rather than an external provider
Enrollment and engagement strategy
To maximize employee participation, Brookfield and Calibrate worked together to deploy a multi-channel outreach strategy, including:
- Direct mail, email campaigns, flyers, and event outreach
- A kickoff webinar, which saw high participation rates
- Ongoing collaborative marketing efforts to maintain awareness
Calibrate is creating behavioral durability
Brookfield’s results highlight a key difference from other weight management programs in the market: Calibrate builds behavioral durability—the ability to sustain metabolic health improvements even as employees reduce or discontinue medication.
This is a critical breakthrough in weight management:
- Unlike traditional weight loss programs that rely on willpower alone, Calibrate rewires how employees interact with food, movement, and stress—creating lasting metabolic changes.
- Unlike medication-only approaches that stop working when the drug is discontinued, Calibrate’s structured curriculum and coaching ensure that employees sustain results, even after tapering off GLP-1s.
Brookfield’s data confirms that employees following Calibrate’s structured approach maintain their progress, while those relying only on medication often regain weight.

Driving a new standard of metabolic health
Brookfield’s partnership with Calibrate proves that structured, clinically guided interventions create better results—both for employees and for employers.
By requiring structured, clinician-led care and behavior change alongside medication access, Brookfield is pioneering a new standard in weight health—one that prioritizes metabolic transformation over short-term weight loss.
This shift has three major advantages:
- It ensures employees build lasting behavioral durability, preventing weight regain.
- It creates a cost-effective, clinically optimized approach to weight management.
- It aligns with the future of obesity care—treating weight as a metabolic condition, not just a number on the scale.
Building a future of sustainable wellness together
Brookfield isn’t just offering a weight loss program—it’s investing in a scalable, clinically proven strategy that will transform employee health for years to come.
By partnering with Calibrate, Brookfield has established a structured, evidence-based approach to weight health that prioritizes sustainable results over quick fixes.
As Brookfield continues to evolve its benefits strategy, Calibrate will serve as a key partner in optimizing its obesity treatment model.
